Support Assange and WikiLeaks Wednesdays

Posted on February 21, 2012

Thanks to M Cetera for alerting us that the Sydney chapter of Stop the War Coalition will hold a meeting of the Support Assange and WikiLeaks Coalition tomorrow, Feb. 22, at 6 pm:

Meeting every Wednesday at UTS, the Support Assange and WikiLeaks Coalition states on its webpage:

“WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange, have changed the face of journalism, demanding real democracy through transparency and accountability. By publishing secret classified documents, through the Guardian, the New York Times and Der Spiegel, they have revealed war crimes, human rights abuses and corruption in governments around the world. …

“We formed the coalition to oppose the political persecution of Julian Assange and the attempts to shut down WikiLeaks. We meet regularly to organise actions and spread the word about Assange and WikiLeaks. We keep a watching brief on the fate of Bradley Manning.

“Anyone who shares our aims is welcome to join us. The Coalition has no membership structure, no political affiliations and funds its own activities.

“We meet on Wednesdays at 6 pm at UTS, Broadway, Tower block downstairs on level 2,  near the table tennis tables. Contact us for the next meeting.”
