Earlier this month, attorney, Salon.com blogger, and WIkiLeaks supporter Glenn Greenwald spoke at California’s Claremont-McKenna College about the U.S. justice system, WikiLeaks, and his own new book, With Liberty and Justice for Some: How the Law Is Used to Destroy Equality and Protect the Powerful. A video excerpt from the speech:

Greenwald, who has been writing about WikiLeaks since January 2010, said that the organization first sparked his interest because “any organization that the Pentagon had declared to be an enemy of the state and was plotting to destroy was one that merited a lot more attention.”

In discussing the fact that many members of the public hesitate to donate to WikiLeaks — due to fear of government targeting or retaliation — Greenwald refers to the “climate of fear that has been created by a government that is proud of its own lawlessness.”

With Liberty and Justice for Some was published last month.
