Take action to celebrate Julian Assange day

Thursday, November 17, 2011, is “Support Julian Assange Day”! On this special date, please take one or more of the following easy steps to support Julian and protest his extradition to Sweden:

  • Join a protest led by Christine Assange and the Sydney Stop the War Coalition: On November 17, during President Barack Obama’s visit to Australia, Julian Assange’s mother will head a protest against Julian’s impending extradition to Sweden and the US government’s actions against WikiLeaks. The event will take place in front of the Canberra Parliament House. Supporters in Australia: Join Christine Assange in protest!   • On November 24, the UK Parliament will debate extradition cases, including Julian’s possible extradition to Sweden. UK supporters: contact your MP about Julian’s extradition.
  • Send a letter to the Council of Europe, Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights, via email or postal mail
  • Sign an online petition to the Australian Parliament
  • Send a letter to Fair Trials International (FTI), via email or postal mail
